Carilion Clinic to Reduce CAUTI and VTE with LogicStream
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – LogicStream Health, Inc. announced today that Carilion Clinic will implement its LogicStream Platform to reduce catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTI) and venous thromboembolism (VTE) using clinical process measurement solutions. Carilion’s decision to implement the platform to monitor and measure all the clinical decision support (CDS) components that enable system-wide care standardization was influenced by its demonstrated impact on CAUTI and VTE rates at other LogicStream clients.

LogicStream’s Clinical Process Measurement solutions help reduce CAUTI and VTE rates by providing the Carilion team with greater visibility of process data across the organization. By determining how individual providers, departments and hospitals are treating patients, unnecessary variation in care can be reduced. Measuring the effectiveness of order sets, alerts, documentation templates and other CDS components allows for standardized processes to be implemented to improve care quality and reduce costs related to hospital-acquired conditions.
